“Kazakh Yeli” complex is a symbol of independence and unity

Astana, October 22, 2009 (Khabar) - Unveiling of “Kazakh Yeli” architectural and sculptural complex has a historical significance for Kazakhstan. According to historical experts of Akmola region this symbol of independence and unity inspires people and make them be proud of their country. Doctor of historical sciences Kadyrzhan Abuov says that the fact of transferring the capital from south to north tells about the connection with past. Here, in northern region, Kazakh state was formed, in 18th century Ablay khan united three Kazakh zhuzes and built Ak Orda, the Kazakh capital.

Kadyrzhan Abuov, professor, doctor of historical sciences:
- Ablay Khan has built his capital here. This is the place where the flag of Ablay was raised, where his Orda was. Now here, in the heart of Saryarka is Astana capital. And “Kazakh Yeli” is located in the centre of the capital and symbolically shows the history of Kazakh nation, the contemporary times and also gives hope and confidence of good future.

This complex strengthens the patriotism feeling. People who have gone through many difficulties now have stable future. That is the merit of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev, notices “Arka azhary” newspaper’s editor-in-chief Zhabal Yergaliyev.
