“Meeting Leila” competing in Buenos Aires, Belfast film festivals

TEHRAN,April 15(MNA) -- Iranian family drama “Meeting Leila” is competing in two international festivals, which are currently underway in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Belfast in Northern Ireland. The film was screened in the Panorama section of the Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI) on April 12 and it is scheduled to be shown in the New Cinema section of the Belfast Film Festival on April 18. Both festivals run until April 21. Starring Leila Hatami, the film is about Leila, a young woman who demands her chain-smoking fiancé quits smoking before their marriage. World-renowned Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami ahd director/actor Adel Yaraqi jointly have written the screenplay for the film. The 4th Bari International Film Festival in Italy screened “Meeting Leila” in March. It was also an entry in the Chicago International Film Festival, which was held in October 2012.
