“My love Astana” TV series

Astana, September 15, 2009 (Khabar) - Kazakhfilm is preparing a wide-scale international project called “My love Astana”, a TV series in collaboration with Turkish film makers. It already has every prospect of becoming the national film project of 2009. Two love stories which end with a double international wedding is at the heart of the plot.

It is a modern fairy tale with dramatic turns, professional actors as well as first-class directors, cameramen, and producers. The heroes of the first soap opera about the capital city will face incredible collisions and a chain of breathtaking ups and downs. The central intrigue lies in the mysterious connection between a modern story with an ancient Turkic legend.

Yermek Shinarbayev, director:
- We’ve already watched the first pilot episode and it’s amazing. I’m incredibly happy. It turned out to be great because the people who worked on the TV series are professionals of the highest-class.

The film director Yermek Shinarbayev is more well-known outside his homeland. His films have been hits at the Cannes film festival and won prestigious film awards and even the “Golden leopard” prize at the festival in Locarno. The “My love Astana” series has already become the director’s favourite brainchild.

Yermek Shinarbayev, director:
- Astana is a phenomenon. We are actually living under this slogan at the moment. Astana is a city where dreams come true. This place is special, it has a special energy and philosophy and it is quite obvious that miracles happen here. The series is all about this. It is about dreams coming true, even the dearest ones.

The Turkish actress Bahar Akcha, the leading lady, keeps her most cherished dream a secret. One of the most popular actresses in Turkey passed a tough audition with 150 people having been auditioned in Istanbul in 2 days.

Bahar Akcha, actress:
- I’ve already shown the first episodes to my friends in Turkey. They were amazed at Astana as they didn’t expect it to have such charm and beauty. I expect this film to be hugely successful as I believe that everything was shot at the highest level ever.

According to cinematographers, the “My love Astana” Kazakh-Turkish project will become one of the golden art brands uniting both the spiritual and historical aspects of Kazakhstan and Turkey. Both veteran and novice actors who are being filmed in the multi-series film are already having great hopes pinned on them by the directors today.
