“Tonya and Her Children” coming to Cinéma Vérité

TEHRAN,Oct.20(MNA) -- “Tonya and Her Children”, a documentary by Polish filmmaker Marcel Lozinski, will be shown at the sixth edition of Cinéma Vérité, the Iranian international festival for documentary films, which will take place in Tehran from November 3 to 10. The film is about the impacts of the parents’ ideological choices on fates of their children. “Tonya and Her Children” tells the story of Wera and Marcel Lechtman, siblings who were sent to an orphanage as a 9 year old and an 11 year old after their mother, a pre-war communist and American spy, was jailed for over five years in 1949. The protagonists recollect the past and are trying to understand their mother’s choices, sometimes losing control over their emotions.
