“Yegemen Kazakhstan” newspaper celebrates 90th anniversary
Astana, December 24, 2009 (Khabar) - Over the years the newspaper repeatedly changed its name, but always remained the main publication in the Kazakh language. The first editing office of the newspaper was in Orenburg when the circulation was only 500 copies, now it exceeds 150 thousand. At different years the post of chief editor was occupied by Mukhtar Auezov, Gabit Musrepov, Abish Kekilbaev and other prominent personalities. The team accepts congratulations and makes up a new issue. The newspaper’s principles – to work reliably and quickly and it did not changed for 90 years. The secret of readers’ love is simple, it is maked by the professionals.

- This panel shows 35 people, who managed our publication for 90 years. Neither the legendary edition “Izvestia”nor “Pravda” could not even boast with so many famous landmark of people who managed their publications. And here we can say that the only winner of the Lenin Prize Mukhtar Auezov headed our paper, two heroes of labor - Gabit Musrepov and Abish Kekilbayev.
December 17, 1919 is the day the first issuing of the newspaper. During 90 years of painstaking and interesting work the newspaper changed several titles “Ushkyn”, “Yenbek Tuy”, “Yenbekshi Kazak” and “Sotsialistik Kazakstan”. In the different years it was edited in Orenburg, Kyzylorda and Almaty. In 1999, the central office of “Yegemen Kazakhstan” moved to a new capital Astana. Its circulation had grown up to 150 thousand. During 90 years of existence, the publication changed the alphabet for three times: firstly was the Arabic script, then - Latin alphabet, starting with 1941 - the Cyrillic one.
All these years, Reporters, photographers, editors tried to convey to his readers the most important events of the country: Soviet era, the Great Patriotic War, alteration and formation of an independent Kazakhstan
