10th Peninsula Shield joint military drill concludes

Manama, Mar.9 (BNA): Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Dheyab bin Saqr Al-Nuami attended the conclusion of the 10th Peninsula Shield joint military drill. The ceremony was held at Samet military ground in the Eastern province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the presence of chiefs of staff from other Gulf Cooperation Council the Peninsula Shield joint force commander. BDF air, navy and infantry fighting units took part, alongside other GCC armed forces, in the final phase of the military drill, which started on the 20th of February, 2019. The stages of the live-ammunition exercise included chemical strikes, missile air attacks, naval vessel operations, coastal defense, storming and disinfection of villages by Special Forces, air support operations for surface forces and the conduct of military operations. The drill follows the GCC leaders’ directives and the decisions of the GCC defence council to bolster military cooperation, enhance harmony between GCC armies and exchange expertise. Lt-Gen. Al-Nuami commended the good results achieved by 10th Peninsula Shield joint military drill, hailing the participation of the Bahraini units and their dedicated cooperation alongside other GCC armed forces. Lt-Gen. Al-Nuami returned today after attended the final ceremony, accompanied by senior BDF officers.
