131 Cambodian Muslims extradited from Thailand

BANGKOK, August 19 (TNA) - A total of 131 Cambodian Muslims who have entered and worked in Thailand illegally were extradited back to their country on Sunday. Of that figure - 62 men, 59 women, two boys and eight girls - were sent back to Cambodia via the Thai border checkpoint in Sa Kaeo province. Police say they were earlier caught by customs officials in Narathiwat province, bordering Malaysia, on charges of illegal entry. Several of them had told police that they had crossed the Thai border at Aranyaprathet district many times before, and had worked at rubber and orchard plantations, as well as in construction sites, during their stay in the Thai south.
