On The 17th Anniversary Of Its Founding…NINA.. A Star Shining In The National Media Space

Baghdad / NINA / - The National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) will celebrate next Saturday the 17th anniversary of its founding. Since its establishment on the fifteenth of October 2005, NINA has made its way through a group of distinguished journalists in the former Iraqi News Agency (INA), which was dissolved by the American civil administrator Paul Bremer, assisted by young journalists who possess the energy and vitality that qualified them to be an essential part of it. During a short period of its life, NINA became an important source of news because of its impartiality, objectivity, accuracy in information and an integrated and distinct technical formulation, which encouraged many international organizations to agree with it to support its news project and adopt its news away from partisan or sectarian affiliation. To expand its services to its subscribers, NINA launched on June 8, 2006 the agency's news bulletin in English in addition to Arabic. And in a step to launch to the outside world, NINA joined The Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) on the twenty-fifth of November 2010 during the meeting it held in Istanbul to occupy the seat that was occupied by the former Iraqi News Agency (INA) before it was dissolved by the US occupation authority in Iraq to become the 44th member of the OANA. NINA participated in the 15th OANA Conference, which was held in Moscow, along with more than 40 news agencies from Asia and the Pacific. It also participated in the International Conference of International News Agencies, which was held in Riyadh in November 2013, along with 77 Arab and foreign news agencies. NINA also participated in the International Conference of International News Agencies, which was held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, during the month of November 2016, along with more than 100 international news agencies. NINA is associated with bilateral agreements with a number of news agencies to enhance the exchange of news and information and to be informed of the latest developments in scientific progress in this regard. After the organizations supporting the independent media gave up their support for the agency’s activities due to the economic conditions the world was going through, in 2010 the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate came forward as a supporter of this media edifice, and it is the legal body for journalists in Iraq, and as is its pledge to support distinguished media activities, NINA continues on its neutral, independent line is biased only to the issues of the citizen and his suffering. In the field of training, the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) has contributed to training hundreds of journalists working in local newspapers, satellite channels, local radios, institutions and media offices, in addition to the training courses it organizes from time to time for students of media faculties in Iraqi universities./End
