17th Theatrical Season opens in Karaganda
Karaganda, September 22, 2009 (Khabar) - For one week, Karaganda is to turn into the theatrical centre of Kazakhstan. And the Ministry for Culture and Information alongside the regional administration will be holding a theatrical there season devoted to the 175th anniversary of prominent composer and poet Birzhan-sala Kozhagululy. The festival is expected to feature 15 acting groups from all regions of the country. Over 5 days, they will present their top works before the jury panel and the audience.

- This festival is a good opportunity for artistes, directors and playwrights to meet and talk to know one another and discuss their achievements in the theatrical sphere of the Republic as well as its development. Everything will be assessed at this festival.
Dulat Isabekov, writer, playwright:
- This building was recently opened by the President. Actors and directors are meant to create masterpiece in such a building.
