BEIRUT (A.A) - 12.04.2011 - The "First Turkish Universities Fair" opened its doors to visitors in Tripoli, Lebanon on Tuesday.
The Fair kicked off with a ceremony attended by the Turkish Ambassador in Beirut Inan Ozyildiz, Mayor of Tripoli Nader Ghazal and high level Lebanese dignitaries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Ozyildiz said that Turkish-Lebanese cooperation increased with every passing day.
We pay high attention to boosting relations in higher education. More than 150 Turkish universities offer great opportunities in master's and doctorate programs. Sending Lebanese students to Turkish universities will be a source of happiness for us, Ozyildiz said.
President of the Lebanese Turkish Society, the main organizer of the Fair, Zahir Sultan said that the "First Turkish Universities Fair" was very crucial.
With this Fair, a new alternative arose for Lebanese students, Sultan stressed.
Turkey can provide excellent education for undergraduates and graduate students, Sultan said.
The Fair will remain open for three days. A total of 13 Turkish universities, including 5 from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), have booths at the Fair.
