280 Etnik Rohingya Families Receive Eid Ul-Fitr Contributions In Malaysia's Kota Tinggi

KOTA TINGGI (Johor, Malaysia), June 19 (Bernama) -- Two hundred-and-eighty ethnic Rohingya families receive Aidilfitri (Eid ul-Fitr) contributions from the Johor Islamic Religious Council (MAIJ) of Kota Tinggi (in Malaysia's southern state Johor) and the Tenggara Parliament Office at the Ramadan ‘Ihya Sentuhan Kasih’ ceremony here Sunday. The contributions of tithe money and food items were handed over by Urban Well-being, Housing and Local Government (KPKT) deputy minister Halimah Mohamed Sadique. Halimah hoped the contributions shared could brighten up their Aidilfitri celebration. Meanwhile, Ali said he was very thankful and overwhelmed when extended aid and regarded it as their good fortune. “Malaysia is a peaceful and safe nation and brings comfort to us. In fact, we are thankful as we are never marginalised from receiving aid like this. “The contributions which we receive will make our Aidilfitri celebration more meaningful but we never forget the Rohingya who are being oppressed,” he added. -- BERNAMA
