56 bikers arrested for illegal street racing

BANGKOK, Sept 29 (TNA) - Pol Maj Gen Surachate Hakparn, deputy commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau, led the arrest of 56 motorcyclists and the seizure of 53 motorcycles in Bangkok for illegal street racing. The arrested people consisted of 35 adults and 21 young people who were about to join a street race in an area under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Police Division 3. Police found 28 motorcycles breaching a noise limit and 13 exhaust pipe shops that do not meet industrial standards. Police also seized 104 substandard exhaust pipes there. Besides, police arrested a 15-year-old boy who was the administrator of the Facebook page titled Khong Len Bang Sue, in Nakhon Sawan province on Sept 27. The boy posted invitations to illegal street races in Pradipat and Romklao areas in February. (TNA)
