64th anniversary of UN
New York, October 29, 2009 (Khabar) - The United Nations Organization has turned 64, throughout this period the structure has proven it can play an important role in the resolution of world issues.
One of the organization’s key spheres is global disarmament. Kazakhstan’s permanent representation in the UN works hard on this issue.
Byrganym Aitimova, Kazakhstan permanent representative to UN:
- The UN treats such issues as disarmament and nuclear disarmament in a very special way. We know that every UN member-state works to promote those ideas and proposals which are generated by other member-states.
The United Nations is now readying for some serious reformation, the necessity of which is brought by today’s reality. However, none has any doubts that the United Nations Organization is still the global mechanism resolving world issues and crises.
