96 Rohingya Detainees Who Fled Immigration Depot In Malaysia Still At Large

ALOR SETAR (Kedah, Malaysia), April 22 (Bernama) -- Ninety-six Rohingya detainees who fled from the Immigration Depot In Malaysia are still at large and the police are continuing with search operations to track down them. Kedah state police chief CP Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad said all the detainees escaped from the Sungai Bakap Immigration Detention Depot on Wednesday.  “So far 432 Rohingya escapees have been recaptured, comprising 218 men, 88 women, 65 boys and 61 girls,” he said in a statement here. He said 23 people are still being held at the depot. Early on  Wednesday, 528 Rohingya detainees fled the depot but six of them died after they were knocked down by a car when they dashed across a nearby highway. -- BERNAMA
