AA director general says Turks, Arabs should open a new page to learn more about each other

ISTANBUL (A.A) - December 1, 2011 - Anadolu Agency (AA) director general and chairperson of Executive Board said on Thursday that Turks and Arabs should open a new page in order to learn more about each other. Kemal Ozturk said countries should promote themselves with not only their news stories but also with their culture. "We should cooperate and be transparent. A new day is born and we need a new perception. Both Arabs and Turks should open a new page to get to know each other in a better way," Ozturk said as he moderated a session during the Turkish-Arab Media Forum in Istanbul. Ozturk defined Al Jazeera project as one of the best examples against monopolist reporting understanding in the entire world, and Al Jazeera made an active coverage during the Arab Spring. "Al Jazeera has made a striking entrance in media world with a significant labor force and financial source, and opened a new horizon," Ozturk said. Ozturk said Al Jazeera once more proved itself during the Arab Spring, and expressed thought that Al Jazeera would be one of the most important representatives of a new media formation idea.
