ADEC launches the Second Round of the Abu Dhabi Reads Campaign

Abu Dhabi (WAM): The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) has initiated preparations for the 2nd round of the Abu Dhabi Reads Campaign, which will start at the beginning of April and continue throughout the month of April. The campaign aims to spread the habit of reading and underscoring the cultural factors correlated with reading among school students and the local community at large. During the press conference, details of the campaign were highlighted and participants in the first round of the campaign were honoured; these included participants working for several prominent schools, several teachers who participated in the first round of events, as well as students who won the contests held during the campaign. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Director General of ADEC, stressed that the 2nd round of the campaign reflects the scope of ADEC's objectives to fathom the key factors of future knowledge and enrich the future generations' knowledge so they would be able to play an active role in the development process and knowledge advancements in Abu Dhabi. The objectives of reading in the Abu Dhabi Reads campaign varies but are topped by obtaining knowledge, intellectual inspiration and enjoyment. However, the key objective is to raise awareness of the importance of reading among school students and the community at large. The activities of the campaign target all KG students and students of Abu Dhabi schools. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
