Afghan publisher uncovers Iranian author’s “Secret of Ahu”

TEHRAN,June 23(MNA) -- Iranian author Nassim Khalili’s latest novel “The Secret of Ahu” has recently been published by an Afghan publisher in Kabul. The book published by Zaryab tells the story of an Iranian opera singer named Roshaan who becomes depressed after his wife leaves him. Roshaan begins to travel across the world to find his true missing half. During his journeys, he falls in love with a Tajik woman named Ahu, who lives in the city of Balkh. The main reason for publishing the novel in Afghanistan is that the story takes place there, Khalili told on Saturday. The book also deals with some of Afghans’ concerns including immigration and their feelings in other countries, she added. “I decided to publish my book in Afghanistan since many Afghan writers have published their works in Iran and I believe this kind of cultural exchange is a good experience,” she said. She said that she is interested in history and added, “I discovered in my studies in history that there has been a close relationship between Iran and Afghanistan dating back to the distant past.” Khalili’s credits include “Photo Frame”, “Which One of Us Sea, Which One of Us River” and “Failed Melody”. Khalil, 32, is also author of “The History Safavid Dynasty” and “Iran’s Constitutional Movement”.
