Afghanistan & Silk Road International Scientific And Research Seminar Held In Kabul

Kabul (BNA) A one-day seminar “Afghanistan and Silk Road” attended by a number of the country’s culturists, deputy ministers, and university lecturers, was held by the ministry of information and culture, BNA reported Tuesday. According to the state owned agency, the seminar, which was started by the speech of Prof. Mohammad Rassoul Bawari, Acting Minister of Information and Culture, saying the Silk Road was one of the valuable projects connecting the country’s important cities with the world. “The Silk Road was as valuable as could connect four great empires-China, Greece, Koshanids and Rome with each other,” said the minister. He said Afghanistan could play key role in well maintaining of this road, particularly in security and providing eases for those who wanted to transfer their goods through the great way, the agency quoted. Bawari noted that currently efforts were going on about the New Silk Road to what should Afghanistan do to renovate it. He also noted that a similar seminar to mark the Cultural Week would be held in the country’s eastern province of Nangarhar, and in the future would be held in all provinces of Afghanistan to well introduce the country’s different point cultures. President Ghani’s message was also read out in the seminar saying that ancient Afghanistan, in the human history, was the hub of the valuable and important Silk Road and that effort was underway to turn Afghanistan into the New Silk Road center, the agency said.
