Agriculture Dept in Malaysia Book of Records for Harumanis

BUKIT KAYU HITAM (Kedah), Sept 20 (Bernama) – The Agriculture Department earned a place in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) Tuesday after planting 4,005 harumanis manggo trees at its Ladang Kolej Pertanian Malaysia, Bukit Tangga here in the state of Kedah.
The department broke the earlier record of 2,000 set by the northern state of Perlis in 2015 which were planted on 16.26 hectares at 23 sites.
Agriculture director-general Ahmad Zakaria Mohamad Sidek said the programme carried out with the cooperation of the Agricultural Skills Training Division (BLKP), and Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry was participated by 2,000 students of the college and Agriculture department and agency officers.
The certificate of record was presented by MBR deputy general manager Mohamad Alex Edward to BLKP director Mohd Sufian Sulaiman and witnessed by Kedah state Women’s Development, Agro-based Agriculture, Entrepreneur Development and Social Welfare Committee chairman Suraya Yaacob. (photoBERNAMA).
