AGU professor reviews Gulf experience at NordCAP

Manama, Sept. 25 (BNA): Ahmed Malalla Al-Ansari, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences at Arabian Gulf University (AGU), has participated in the Nordic Child & Adolescent Psychiatric (NordCAP) research meeting in Finland.
He presented a research on the Gulf region and Bahrain, explaining the state and level of psychological services provided to children and adolescents based on his own long experience in this field. He reviewed the history and the emergence of pediatric-psychiatry and the development of services over 30 years, which places Gulf countries among the ranks of developed countries. During the meeting, Dr Al-Ansari reviewed the leading educational role of the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences at AGU in terms of its efficiency, the quality of teaching and the practical training in public hospitals.
He also explained means of preparing future doctors to handle psychological cases of all types in children and adolescents within hospitals or health centres (HCs) in GCC countries. The research paper reviewed by Al-Ansari was met with approval and admiration, summarising all of AGU’s achievements and success stories, especially in the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the past few years –making Bahrain an advanced training centre for doctors seeking to complete their specialisations in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry in the Arab region.
