Airliner on way from Russia’s Novosibirsk to UAE’s Dubai makes emergency landing in Novosibirsk

NOVOSIBIRSK, April 9 (Itar-Tass) - A passenger airliner of Transaero Airlines on the way from the Russian Siberian city of Novosibirsk to the largest United Arab Emirates (UAE) city of Dubai flied back to the airport of departure due to a detector in control of the anti-icing system activated, aide of West Siberian transport prosecutor Oksana Gorbunova told Itar-Tass on Wednesday. “Airliner Boeing-737-800 departed at 8.15am local time (2.15am GMT) from the city of Novosibirsk to the city of Dubai, as a detector in control of the anti-icing system presumably activated and the commander of the airliner decided to return to the airport of departure,” she said. As many as 148 passengers, including one child and seven crewmembers, were onboard the airliner. The airliner landed at 10.39am local time (3.39am GMT) on Wednesday. “Passengers are waiting for a backup airliner which is already ordered from Moscow. The West Siberian prosecutor’s office is conducting an inquiry,” Gorbunova added. Learn more on itar-tass.com
