Manama, Oct. 11 (BNA): Al Ahram Cultural Festival concluded today with the participation of a group of Bahraini and Egyptian intellectuals, officials and writers, which included a number of cultural and media activities. The third day of the festival witnessed two symposiums titled "Renewing religious discourse to counter extremist ideology" and "Protecting human rights in the fight against terrorism". Egyptian president's Religious Advisor, Sheikh Osama Al-Azhari, addressed the first symposium, while Human Rights Committee’s Advisor of Egypt’s House of Representatives, Saeed Abdulhafidh, and member of Bahrain’s National Institution for Human Rights, Dr. Bader Mohammed Adel, addressed the second one. The event was held at the University of Bahrain. It shed light on key cultural themes currently seen by the region. The participants stressed the significance of renewing the cultural, media and religious discourses and benefiting from technology to convey messages of peace in the fight against terrorism. In addition, the event targeted providing the youth and future generations with science and knowledge to protect them from falling victim to terrorism that has become a calamity. The festival was organized by the Egyptian Al Ahram Press Foundation in collaboration with Bahrain’s Information Ministry, which reflects the strength of the longstanding relations between the two Arab states under their leaderships HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Abdelfattah El Sisi.
