Al-Raya Affirms Qatar's Constant Support for Security, Stability of Sudan

Doha, March 09 (QNA) - In its editorial on Wednesday, Al-Raya newspaper affirmed that the State of Qatar has stood by the people of Sudan during the historic stages they have gone through, which comes from its belief in Sudan's vital role at the Arab, regional and international levels, noting that the leadership, government and people of Qatar have a great appreciation for Sudan and its people- based on the bonds of brotherhood, as well as historic friendship and a mutual destiny.
In this context, the paper highlighted the reiteration of the State of Qatar's call for all Sudanese parties to exert more efforts and give precedence to the voice of wisdom and national will to achieve the required political consensus and reach a common formula that represents all spectrums of the Sudanese people, pave the way towards achieving security and stability, and work to promote and protect human rights.
The paper emphasized Qatar's keenness to promote and protect human rights in Sudan, as well as its stability, unity and territorial integrity, through its stance by the Sudanese people and it full support for their legitimate aspirations to achieve a comprehensive and just peace and promote stability and development.
Al-Raya said that Qatar has contributions in laying the foundations of peace in the country in general, and in the Darfur region in particular - after years of fighting, pointing out Doha's Darfur Peace Agreement, which constituted a historic pivot point in the life of Sudanese people in the region, who have suffered from the scourge of war and conflicts for years before Doha came to establish a comprehensive agreement that guarantees peaceful coexistence and moves the development and stability forward for the benefit of the Sudanese people.
The paper also pointed out that all Sudanese parties have witnessed the Qatari role and its sincere will to end the conflict and establish peace, which is why all parties have been holding onto the Doha Forum - as it is the only forum on Darfur. It noted Qatar's clear approach in supporting peaceful solutions to Sudan's current challenges, without any special agendas, to achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people for peace and renaissance.
The paper concluded its editorial by stressing Qatar's belief that all Sudanese parties will prioritize public interest and find a solution to end the current crisis, so that the Sudanese can devote themselves to building their modern state that ensures everyone's inclusion. (QNA)
