Al-Raya Commends Qatar's Success in Managing Covid-19 Crisis

Doha, March 07 (QNA) - In its editorial published on Monday, Al-Raya newspaper praised the State of Qatar's highest rate of recovery from the Coronavirus among the GCC countries, which confirms the success of the national strategy in dealing with the pandemic, as well as the efficiency of the country's medical sector. The paper stressed that Qatar faced Covid-19 crisis with success, as its high professionalism, the strength of its medical sector and the durability of its economy made it lead its national battle with confidence. The newspaper said that since the beginning of the outbreak of the disease, Qatar has taken a series of precautionary measures and proactive steps to keep things under control, as it dealt with high professionalism with the crisis and equipped specialized hospitals to deal with the disease, adding that the medical sector in the country did not witness any pressure, but things were going in a normal situation. Al-Raya added that Qatar was able to overcome the crisis at its peak with the lowest number of deaths in relation to the death rate in the world, which was confirmed by the report of the Statistical Centre for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf (GCC-STAT), where Qatar recorded 99.2 percent of the recovery rate from the virus. The newspaper stressed that the State of Qatar is steadfastly proceeding in its national battle against the pandemic on more than one level, and has been able more than once to overcome the height of the crisis and keep matters under control, pointing out that Qatar has succeeded in managing the Corona crisis with aptitude. Al-Raya pointed out that the State provided the vaccine in record time and was able to vaccinate more than 88 percent of the population with both doses. The country has also expanded in giving the third booster dose, and has begun to reap the fruits of its successes through the decline of the disease and the record decline in the number of daily infections with the high rate of recovery, as precautionary restrictions have been eased in many sectors, which confirms that Qatar has overcome the pandemic, the paper added. The paper indicated that the Qatari achievements did not stop during Corona crisis, despite the preventive measures taken by the State in order to limit the spread of this pandemic, underlying that Qatar has turned the ordeal of Corona into a grant, and its health sector has shown a great potential in absorbing and treating cases. It also said that everyone who resides on this good land has the right to be proud of the efforts being made at all levels to contain and control this disease. Concluding, Al-Raya stressed the need for everyone to oblige to the precautionary measures, because it is the only way to eliminate this pandemic. (QNA)
