Al-Raya: Doha Forum Platform for Global Dialogue
Doha, March 24 (QNA) - In its editorial Thursday, Al-Raya newspaper underlined the importance of the 20th edition of the Doha Forum, which will be held on Saturday under the theme 'Transforming for a New Era' under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
The paper explained that the importance of this year's edition gains from the importance of the issues raised - over two days of research - and the participation of the most prominent leaders, politicians and decision-makers from all over the world, to address vital issues of great importance and a number of basic topics, including geopolitical alliances, international relations, financial system and economic development, defense, cybersecurity, food security, sustainability and climate change, noting that all of these issues highlight the urgent need to shed light on them for the sake of human well-being and reforming the flawed global system that faces many great challenges. The Doha Forum provides a platform for global dialogue on Qatar's land for the good of humanity, the paper added.
Al-Raya pointed out that the forum's program includes a set of plenary and discussion sessions and keynotes that revolve around global topics and issues such as the future of gas, climate and war economies, and will discuss the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic, the global energy crisis and its price regulation, the dangers of misinformation, and online extremism.
Furthermore, the paper said that the forum will also discuss the impact of the warring parties' control over financial resources, incentives for peace, the risks of artificial intelligence on justice, transparency and privacy and the Palestinian cause, and will review the experience of Education Above All and its objectives in conflict areas, in addition to the sustainable growth in the Gulf, US-Chinese competition in the region, the future of foreign direct investment in the post-pandemic era, and many other big topics and issues.
Since 2000, the Doha Forum has been able to become a platform for global dialogue on the challenges facing our world, which today is becoming more polarized in light of the difficult circumstances that the international community is currently experiencing, the paper said.
Al-Raya concluded by emphasizing that in light of the remarkable increase in emerging powers and challenges on the global scene, there is a need to reimagine the global order, especially after the world has turned into a small village, noting that therefore, the Doha Forum, which adopted the theme "Transforming for a New Era", will shed more light on the crises that the international community suffers from, and will present solutions and proposals that contribute to solving these crises, and immunizing societies from their dangers.
