Al-Raya: Placing Qatar on Safe Countries Lists Proves Its Efficient Health Strategy

Doha, July 03 (QNA) - Qatari newspaper Al-Raya underlined Saturday that the strategy adopted by the State of Qatar to confront the coronavirus pandemic yield positive results led to placing the State on the safe countries list, after the rate of daily infections reduced significantly in the past few weeks, along with a remarkable increase in the vaccination rate with the distinguished cooperation of citizens and residents. Al-Raya said that the distinction and reliability of Qatar's health system in the face of the pandemic made many European countries decide to exempt those vaccinated from the State of Qatar from the requirements of quarantine and PCR examination. According to the Ministry of Public Health, the pace of vaccination accelerated as more than 3.2 million doses have been administered since the start of the program. 74.6% of the eligible population has now received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 97.4% of over 60s (the most vulnerable population group) have been vaccinated with at least one dose, and 92.4% have received both doses. In conclusion, Al-Raya underlined the need to continue adhering to the precautionary measures imposed by the State and have proven effective over the past weeks, in order to continue this achievement that prompted world countries to welcome travelers from Qatar, stemming from the confidence in its comprehensive strategy to curb the spread of the pandemic.
