Al-Sharq and Al-Watan Highlight the Importance of the Doha Forum

Doha, March 26 (QNA) - Al-Sharq and Al-Watan dedicated their Friday editorial to discussing the importance of the 20th Doha Forum, set to take place later Saturday under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Al-Sharq said that the forum, held under the theme "Transformation into a New Era," will focus on challenges and critical issues facing the world, and exchange ideas regarding the viable solutions to these challenges. The paper added that the patronage of HH the Amir, reflects the state's support of the forum and elevates its importance on the regional and international levels. Al-Sharq said that this year's edition is taking place during a very delicate time for the international community, in light of the recent developments. It highlighted that there is an urgent need to address these challenges now, given the potential political, economic, and social repercussions they could have. The paper concluded by saying that the outcomes of the Doha Forum will carry many of the resolutions necessary to deal with the challenges facing the international community. For its part, Al-Watan said that the 20th edition of the Doha Forum comes this year during political and economic developments that pose a lot of challenges for the international community. It added that the world will turn to the forum, given it is one of the most important platform to discuss international diplomacy topics. The paper said that the forum will focus on topics such as geopolitical alliances and international relations, the financial system and economic development, defense, cyber security, food security, sustainability, and climate change. The paper also said that the forum gains more significance given that the pandemic has compounded all these challenges. Al-Watan also said that the forum will address the international community's role in managing the displacement of refugees, in light of the growth of this phenomenon as a result of the developments in Syria and Ukraine.
