Al-Sharq Hails Qatar's Position in Rejecting Violence, Terrorism

Doha, July 04 (QNA) - Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq hailed in its Sunday editorial the State of Qatar's firm position in rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives and reasons, pointing out that Qatar has always been quick to condemn and denounce such acts anywhere in the world and actively participates in international and regional efforts to address terrorism and violent extremism.
The State of Qatar is aware that terrorism and violent extremism pose the greatest challenges to the world, Al-Sharq said, adding that the State has always focused on the importance of adopting a comprehensive approach that includes addressing the political, economic and social roots of the phenomenon, along with security and military action, as this is the most effective way to eliminate terrorism.
The newspaper referred to Qatar's various initiatives to contribute to addressing the roots of the crisis, including providing job opportunities for youth and supporting education for millions of children, youth and women, especially in conflict areas, as well as working to build peace and stability.
Qatar has also strengthened its strategic partnership with United Nations agencies concerned with addressing this phenomenon, as it signed a partnership agreement with the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism in order to enhance the capacity of the Office, as well as the opening of the International Hub on Behavioral Insights to Counter Terrorism and a partnership agreement between Silatech Organization in Qatar and the Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force with the aim of capacity-building and launching projects in the Arab region aimed at terrorism prevention, Al-Sharq pointed out.
Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by saying that in addition to these various initiatives, the mediation diplomacy pursued by Qatar also had a significant contribution to strengthening international peace and security, through the success in calming tensions and putting an end to many disputes and conflicts, whether in the region or outside, based on the countrys firm belief in resolving disputes by peaceful means.
