Al-Sharq, The Peninsula Commend Qatar-Turkey's Strategic Partnership, Deep-Rooted Relations
Doha, July 15 (QNA) - In their editorials on Thursday, Al-Sharq and The Peninsula newspapers highlighted the strategic partnership between the State of Qatar and the sisterly Republic of Turkey.
The newspapers said that both parties continue to explore new opportunities for collaboration, coordination, and increasing the joint workspaces that would contribute to achieving stability and prosperity.
The Qatari dailies stressed that Qatar and Turkey do no compromise their sovereignty, their attitudes and principles towards the right and justice for the interests of peoples and their support for international security, peace and stability, which makes the two countries have similar positions on many political and security issues in the region and the world.
Al-Sharq underlined in its editorial the strategic partnership between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey, as they provide an advanced model for relations between brothers, adding that challenges faced both countries have shown the extent of strategic relations between them.
Commemorating the fifth anniversary of the failed coup attempt in Turkey, which has been foiled by the Turkish people who are willing to sacrifice their lives in order to protect their country, the paper recalled the strong support provided by the State of Qatar to the elected Turkish government, noting that Qatar expressed its strong condemnation of the military coup attempt.
The paper also noted HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's phone conversation with HE Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan following the coup attempt, to become the first leader in the world to express support for Turkey and its elected legitimacy.
The newspaper pointed out that established and strategic relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey, have been tested more than once, and every time, it was an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations and partnership between the two countries in all areas and at all levels.
In conclusion, Al-Sharq said that Qatar and Turkey do no compromise their sovereignty, their attitudes and principles towards the right and justice for the interests of peoples and their support for regional and international security, peace and stability, which makes the two countries have similar positions on many political and security issues in the region and the world.
For its part, The Peninsula newspaper underlined in its editorial Thursday Qatar-Turkey's bilateral relations which have been established since 1972 as both countries have become close partners and allies.
The Qatari daily stressed that more recently, the strength of Qatar-Turkey's relationship covers various facets in diplomacy, shared international interest, economic and trade growth, and global peace and stability.
The newspaper highlighted HE the Ambassador of Turkey to Qatar Mustafa Goksu's affirmation that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani was the first head of State to call HE President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkey to express solidarity in the aftermath of Turkey's abortive coup in 2016 and that Turkey and the Turkish people will never forget Qatar's strong support.
The paper pointed out that the amount of total Turkish investments in Qatar are worth $17 billion, and they have increased further during the preparations for the football World Cup in 2022. Meanwhile, Qatari investments in Turkey have reached $22 billion, the daily added.
In conclusion, The Peninsula affirmed that the increasingly close cooperation between Turkey and Qatar is rooted in mutual interests, adding that both parties continue to explore new opportunities for collaboration, coordination, and increasing the joint workspaces that would contribute to achieving stability and prosperity.
