Al-Watan Condemns Israeli Continued Violations Against Palestinians

Doha, August 10 (QNA) - Al-Watan denounced on Tuesday the continuation of Israeli violations and attacks, including arrest, repression, abuse and confrontations, which have become a daily reality imposed on the Palestinian people. In its editorial, the paper expressed its regret that the international community remained a spectator without taking any action in terms of implementing the resolutions of international legitimacy related to the Palestinian cause to end the occupation and settlement on the State of Palestine, and the relevant international resolutions, especially resolution 2334. International resolutions alone will not be sufficient unless they are translated into practical steps capable of forcing the Israeli occupation to comply with and abide by international law, international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions and signed agreements, and fulfill its obligations as an occupying power towards defenseless civilian citizens, Al-Watan said. Moreover, the paper stressed the need for the International Criminal Court and the Human Rights Council to start investigating the violations and crimes of the occupation and settlers, in order to bring to justice the perpetrators of these crimes and those behind them, in a manner that puts an end to the impunity of Israel and its leaders and its rebellion against international law, and in a manner that puts an end to the daily violations that it practices against the Palestinian people, including killing and abuse. Al-Watan concluded by saying that this responsibility cannot be evaded, and the continuation of disregard by the international community means participation in Israeli violations in the occupied and besieged Palestinian territories.
