Al-Watan Condemns Israeli Crimes Committed Against Palestinians

Doha, April 03 (QNA) - In its Sunday editorial, Al-Watan newspaper expressed its condemnation of the successive crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinian people, stressing that these crimes rise to the level of war crimes, for which international law is held accountable.
The paper demanded international protection for Palestinians away from the policy of double standards as is currently prevalent.
The newspaper said that more than 25 Palestinian citizens have been martyred since the beginning of 2022 by the Israeli occupation forces' bullets in a dangerous escalation that could lead to an explosion in the occupied territories due to the repressive and brutal Israeli practices.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the International Criminal Court not to fall into the trap of double standards and to immediately start its investigations into the crimes of the Israeli occupation and the extrajudicial killings of the Palestinian citizen, the paper pointed out.
Al-Watan noted that the ministry condemned in a statement the crimes of the successive field executions committed by Israeli occupation forces, premeditated against Palestinian citizens, with direct instructions and facilitation from the political and military levels in Israel, the most recent of which was the martyrdom of three young men in a number of areas, and the injury of a number of others.
It considered that these crimes amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity for which international law is held accountable, which also confirms that Israel is continuing to implement its colonial plans aimed at breaking the will of steadfastness of the Palestinian citizen and to impose fear on them, as well as to remind them that the hand of the occupation is supreme.
Al-Watan expressed its regret that the international dealings with the martyrs of field executions is still done as numbers in the statistics, and what is required is something else entirely that would contribute to stopping Israeli crimes and providing protection for the Palestinian people, away from the policy of double standards as is currently prevalent.
The newspaper stressed that the international community must stop double standards and apply international law and UN resolutions with regard to Palestine, whose people have been suffering for 74 years. No UN resolution has been applied to it because of the clear double standards, the paper noted, adding that this was clear through the steps taken only in the first 10 days of the Ukrainian crisis which revealed the scale of hypocrisy and double standards.
Concluding, Al-Watan called on the international community to awaken a legal and moral conscience to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, away from the usual reactions to the violations and crimes of the occupier, which, unfortunately, contributed to the escalation of killings and abuse, after the occupation authorities realized that they could escape any real accountability.
