Al-Watan: Qatar Continues Growth Process, Increases Global Confidence in National Economic

Doha, March 13 (QNA) - In its editorial on Sunday, Al-Watan newspaper affirmed Qatar's position as a leading global center for business and investment, stressing that the national economic continues to grow and develop in light of the presence of attractive factors to enhance its growth process and increase global confidence. Al-Watan newspaper highlighted what was confirmed by HE Qatar Chamber's Chairman Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Bin Mohammed Al-Thani, who said that FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 enhances Qatar's position as a leading global destination for business and investment, in light of legislative, regulatory and institutional environment and advanced infrastructure. The newspaper referred to what His Excellency has predicted about national economic growth and development after hosting the World Cup, especially after the great leaps Qatar has achieved over the past years in light of the presence of attractive factors that enhance its growth process and increase global confidence. The newspaper also pointed out that Qatar's hosting of the World Cup will provide the opportunity for investor and businessmen from different countries to know Qatar and its economy and to learn about the investment climate and the available opportunities, which will enhance the Qatari economy. Moreover, the newspaper noted that FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will attract more foreign investments to the country, adding that it will enhance the country's positions as a leading global center of business and investment. Additionally, it will have positive reflections on the trade and tourism sectors, which will witness a huge growth, and will attract more investors and foreign cash and investment flows, which contributes to stimulating business at the local market level and strengthening the high confidence among foreign investors in the Qatari economy. The newspaper stressed that private sector has received encouragement and support, and the country has worked efficiently to remove all obstacles ahead of it through diversifying sources of income and not relying on the oil and gas resources, expanding support for the private sector and improving the business environment, as well as economic openness policies and the investments pursued by the country, which contributed in increasing the investments and the private sector growth. Concluding, Al-Watan highlighted what His Excellency confirmed that the expectations indicates that non-oil activities will witness a growth rate of 2.8 percent to 4.7 percent this year, based on the expectations of the boom in activities related to hosting the World Cup.
