Al-Watan Regrets Inability of International Community to Stop Israeli Crimes

Doha, July 04 (QNA) - In its Sunday's editorial, the daily newspaper Al-Watan regrets the inability of the international community to put an end to the Israeli attacks. The paper said that the international community is still unable to find a political solution that achieves the Palestinians' rights and to stop this tragedy. Al-Watan pointed out that during the past hours, 89 Palestinians have been injured by the Israeli forces, in addition to hundreds of cases of suffocation during some activities condemning the settlements in separate areas in the occupied West Bank. Two Palestinians were wounded by live bullets as well, one of whom was taken to a hospital, during the clashes that erupted in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, when the Israeli army fired live bullets and tear gas canisters at hundreds of Palestinians near Mount Sabih, which is threatened with confiscation, the paper added. The newspaper noted that four Palestinians have been killed during the last weeks from the town of Beita, and dozens wounded, most of them with live bullets, in confrontations with the occupation forces. Clashes also erupted in Usarin town, south of Nablus, denouncing the Israeli settlement on the town's lands, the paper said, adding that Israeli and Palestinian estimates indicate that there are about 650 settlers in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, living in 164 settlements and 116 outposts. The paper stressed that this inability is mainly due to the United States' reluctance to play its role in order to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy represented by the Security Council and the General Assembly of the United Nations, and its silence about Israeli repressive practices, as well as its failure to condemn Israel's brutal crimes, which causes intolerable daily suffering for the Palestinian people. Al-Watan concluded its editorial by saying that the injury of 89 Palestinians in one day should form a motive for an action, and explicit acknowledgment by the international community that what Tel Aviv is doing can no longer be tolerated.
