Almost 100 pangolins seized in Nongkhai

NONGKHAI, Feb 28 (TNA) - Customs officials seized 85 pangolins in a boat and a pick-up truck at the Mekong River. About 12 men were moving plastic crates into a boat when Officials spotted them. They fled across the river to the neibouring country, leaving one plastic crate, in which some pangolins were found inside. Other seven crates, containing pangolins were discovered in a pick-up truck, parking nearby. All 85 pangolins were given to wildlife checkpoint officers. The mammals will be transported for nursery at Phu Khieo Wildlife Sanctuary in Chaiyaphum. (TNA)
