Ambassador: Bahrain is achieving its national, development goals

Muscat, Dec. 16 (BNA): Bahrain’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Juma’a Ahmed Al-Ka’abi, has extended sincere greetings and congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain's national celebrations on 16 and 17 December, in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahraini state, an Arab and Muslim country founded by Ahmed Al-Fateh in 1783, the 47th anniversary of its full membership in the United Nations, and the 19th Anniversary of HM the King’s Accession to the Throne.
“While celebrating the Bahraini National Day, we recall with great pride the significant national and international achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain in various political, economic, developmental and social fields, which were implemented due to the clear strategies and vision of His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister,” the ambassador said in a statement.
“The Bahraini National Day celebrations and His Majesty the King's Accession to the Throne this year coincided with the great success achieved by the Kingdom democratically through receiving the highest turnout in the history of the parliamentary and municipal elections in the Kingdom. This huge success also reflects His Majesty the King’s keenness in strengthening the foundations of democracy and moving forward through the active participation in the decision-making process of the political and municipal councils towards further progress and prosperity of the Kingdom.
“Women's active participation in the elections and reaching the position of Speaker of House of Representatives correlates with the significant success achieved by women through their participation in the political process and development of the Kingdom.
“The achievements of the Kingdom did not only reach the political and municipal levels, but they are also constantly visible through the Kingdom’s achievements, in accordance with performance indicators and international organizations in developing humanitarian and technological performance and its regional and international status.
“The Kingdom has set its sights on achieving the Millennium Development Goals adopted by the United Nations, and it is a source of pride and honor for the Kingdom to reach such achievement before the agreed global date, including the provision of health services, education, equality, energy saving and sustainable urban development.
“The initiatives, programs and projects in the field of strengthening the infrastructure and public utilities are an integral part of the efforts to support the national economy and sustainable development, and the results, initiatives and projects announced during the 2018 Government Forum, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister, and the initiative of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, reflects the success of the government's outstanding and promising policies and enhancing the Kingdom's competitiveness in various fields.
“The (Team Bahrain) initiative and ability to implement economic and development policies underlines the success of the joint efforts undertaken by both the government sector and the private sector, which, based on the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, has become a fundamental aspect of economy and development.
“Internationally, the Kingdom continued to occupy leading positions in international organizations and forums, including, but not limited to, His Majesty the King's United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) award in 2016, in recognition of his vision of empowering women and youth economically in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and in honor of his developmental and strategic achievements.
“The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) granted His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the ICT Award for Sustainable Development, in recognition of the Kingdom’s progress in the telecommunications sector and information technology in the field of sustainable development.
“In addition to the significant achievement of the Kingdom by winning the membership of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the period 2019-2021, which reflects the Kingdom's status and leadership in the field of human rights, and is based on the international community’s trust.
“(Our National Days) is a celebration withholding such pride and honor in regards to the achievements of the Kingdom in fostering the well-being of the citizen, which is a key element in the system of sustainable development. Thus, investing in this element acts as an important factor in implementing the wise vision of our leadership.
“I would like to reiterate my greetings and congratulations to our wise leadership on the occasion of the glorious National Day. Happy national day to our country, His Majesty the King, and our people, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity,” the ambassador also said in his statement.
