Ambassador to Belgium, NATO, EU to highlight her experiences in radio talk show

Manama, Dec. 28 (BNA): Dr. Bahia Jawad Al Jishi, a well-known figure in the media, academics and diplomacy, will highlight her diplomatic career and extensive experiences on Radio Bahrain on Tuesday. The “Diplomatic Dialogue” programme invites diplomats to talk about their personal lives and their careers. The guests shed light on their academic achievements and careers, review distinguished diplomatic moments in their careers, talk about their personal interests and activities away from diplomacy and share their visions, dreams and aspirations for the future. Dr. Bahia is Bahrain's Ambassador to Belgium, Luxemburg, Denmark and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). She is also the Head of the Mission to the European Union Previously, she was Advisor at the Prime Minister’s Court, Member of the Consultative Council, head of the Directorate of Children, UNICEF's National Program Coordinator, producer, presenter, newscaster and supervisor of women and children's programs, with Bahrain Broadcasting and newscaster and program presenter with the BBC Arabic Service in London. She was also supervisor of women and children's programs with Bahrain Television and editor of the literary, women and family sections at Al Adhwa newspaper in Bahrain. Dr Bahia is Member of the Supreme Council for Women, the official body for elevating the status of women in Bahrain and for empowering them politically, economically and socially. She was Member of the Shura Council (the Upper Chamber of the bicameral parliament, Second Deputy Chairperson of the Shura Council and Member of the Arab Parliament. Dr. Bahia is a Doctor of Education, (Cum Laude), Boston University, and she holds an M.A. (Politics and History of the Middle East+ Status of Women in Islamic Shariaa), School of Oriental and African Studies University of London, England. Her B.A. was in Arabic Literature, from the Faculty of Arts, University of Cairo, Egypt.
