Ambassador to Canada meets with Canadian Assistant Deputy Minister for Europe, Arctic, Middle East, and Maghreb

Ottawa, Aug. 28 (BNA): Bahrain’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Canada Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa met with the Assistant Deputy Minister for Europe, Arctic, Middle East and Maghreb at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada, Sandra McCardell. The ambassador stressed the solid relations between Bahrain and Canada that were established 50 years ago. He noted Canada’s stances in protecting international peace and security and its commitment to maritime security and its humanitarian aid to affected countries in the region. Ambassador Al Khalifa pointed out to Bahrain’s keenness to achieve regional stability and to strengthen international partnerships to counter terrorism. Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid noted Bahrain’s commitment to enhance further relations through increasing coordination between the two sides in various fields. He highlighted Bahrain’s aspirations for the second bilateral meeting for political consultation between Bahrain and Canada. Sandra McCardell praised the bilateral relations, and expressed Canada’s aspirations to host the second bilateral meeting for political consultation in Ottawa in September.
