Ambassador meets German Parliament committee chairperson

Berlin, Oct.9 (BNA): Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Federal Republic of Germany, Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, met with the Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the German Parliament (Bundestag), Jade Jensen, at the headquarters of the German Parliament in Berlin.
The Ambassador highlighted Bahrain's efforts to promote and protect human rights within the framework of efforts to address the (Covid-19), by implementing proactive measures on all sides and raising the levels of preparedness to confront this virus based on advanced plans and protocols, and providing treatment and care services to all citizens and residents alike.
He noted that Bahrain earned widespread international acclaim, thanks to the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the national efforts of the Bahrain team, led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The Ambassador indicated that an award has been allocated in the name of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to honor the distinguished Bahraini doctors, and this reflects the appreciation of the Kingdom of Bahrain's government for the great efforts and sacrifices of Bahraini doctors during the (Covid-19) pandemic.
He also highlighted the inauguration of the Authority Information and e-government, in cooperation with the National Medical Team to address (Covid-19) the "Be Aware" application on smart phones, which aims to enhance the follow-up of cases of home quarantine and isolation, and the possibility of monitoring contact cases, alerting and protecting citizens and residents in the event of their proximity or contact with existing or suspected cases, in order to preserve their safety and the safety of their families.
The Ambassador also touched upon the organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain of a series of workshops concerned with preparing a draft of the National Plan for Human Rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The workshops, which came in line with the reform approach of His Majesty the King, aimed to preserve the Kingdom's national gains, with the participation of the concerned authorities and delegates from the United Nations, the High Commissioner for Human Rights and some accredited embassies in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Jensen appreciated the efforts and success of the Kingdom of Bahrain in dealing with the pandemic, reviewing the German experience in combating the spread of the virus.
