Ambassador participates in UNGA high-level meeting on multilateralism, diplomacy for peace

New York, Apr. 26 (BNA): The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations, Ambassador Jamal Faris Al-Rowaie, stressed the pivotal role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in preserving the security and stability of the Middle East. Under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Kingdom of Bahrain places great importance to forging alliances, both at the regional and international levels, through the use of multilateral diplomacy in order to achieve international peace and security, he said. This came as the Permanent Representative delivered a speech in the High-Level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace. The Ambassador noted that the current international challenges require enhancing the capabilities of the United Nations and continuing the process of reform for its structures, especially those related to the achievement of sustainable development goals. He also affirmed the strong link between economic and social issues and peace and security issues, which calls for international cooperation under the United Nations to fulfill its objectives.
