American students rescued from Chiang Mai forest
CHAING MAI, Aug 30 (TNA) – Eleven American exchange students at Chiang Mai University were rescued from the Doi Suthep National Park early today after they got lost in the forest for several hours.
The student aged 18-22 years, a male and 10 females got lost behind Huay Tueng Thao reservoir after they started trekking at 2pm yesterday, heading to the Tad Mok waterfall.
They could not find the way out until nightfall. Fortunately, there was a mobile signal in the area, they were stranded, so they could contact the police for help.
Rescuers were able to locate them at the Nok Kok cliff above the Tad Mok waterfall. They walked about 800 metres from an off-road track and found them at about 1am today. (TNA)
