Annual Conference on Communicable Diseases kicks off

Manama, Apr. 5 (BNA): The second Annual Conference on Communicable Diseases kicked off today under the auspices of Supreme Council for Health (SCH) President Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa.
More than 500 participants are taking part in the conference, held under the theme “Meeting Challenges”, which will bring under the spotlight over 35 scientific papers including 19 Bahraini ones.
Dr. Shaikh Mohammed hailed the event as an opportunity to bring together specialists to cast light on the need to prepare the health systems and the staff of hospitals and health centres to deal with the growing and diverse challenges in the field of treating infectious diseases. He underlined the importance of the conference in providing a platform for health specialists in Bahrain to avail of regional and international experiences in epidemiology.
Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh, Health Ministry Undersecretary Aisha Bu Unq and senior officials attended the event organised by the Salmaniya Medical Complex’s Infectious Diseases Unit.
