Antarabangsa Chairman Conferred Cambodia's Highest Award

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5 (Bernama) – Dr Mustapha Ahmad Marican, chairman of non-governmental organisation, Antarabangsa, Monday received the Monisarapron Mohasina, the highest award of the Cambodian government. The award was presented by Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen at a ceremony in conjunction with the opening of a state mosque in Kampung Cham, Phnom Penh. This was the third award received by Mustapha from the Cambodian government. He had been awarded the first class Gold Medal in 2004 and was made an honorary Doctor of Law in 2012. Besides Mustapha, the same award was also conferred on Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Jamil Khir Baharom, Cambodian Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Osman Hassan and the Malaysian ambassador to Cambodia Hasan Malek. Mustapha in a statement said since he began active welfare work in Cambodia 18 years ago he had succeeded in building four mosques, besides contributing ideas to the Cambodian government on the construction of infrastructure such as schools and police stations. -- BERNAMA
