Arab Diplomats Interviewed by QNA Highly Value Efforts of HH Sheikha Moza

Doha , February 14 (QNA) - A number of Arab Ministers taking part in the Third Ministerial Meeting of NAM (Non -Aligned Movement) countries concerning women advancement, which kicked off in Doha, Monday showed their gratitude to the huge efforts of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser in the field of women advancement and empowerment, stressing that the Qatari woman is now able to gain many of her rights and able to go through different work fields that used to be exclusive for men. In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) Tuesday on the margins of the NAM meeting ending here today, the participants said that the Qatari experience in the field of women advancement became a model which is continuously looked up to by other Arab countries. Coordinator of UN bureau of NAM, ambassador Magid Abdul Fattah, said that the Qatari women gained a lot of their rights and that HH the emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser are exerting huge efforts to support the Qatari women's rights. For her side, Minister of Women Affairs in Iraq, dr. Ibtihal Al-Zaidy said that they noticed through the presented reports of the Qatari representative during the meeting that the national developmental vision planned since 2008 till 2030 has indeed started to reveal its results according to the applied programmes in Qatar which had deep impact on women advancement. "I am following well the activities of Her Highness and impressed by what she presents, we consider her a role model in the Arab World who allowed women to gain a lot of their rights due to her efforts." Al Zaidy added. Meanwhile the Libyan minister of Social Affairs dr. Mabrouka Al- Sharif Jebrel Al-Midany confirmed on the special rank of Qatar to Libyan people as it was the first country to feel the risk they, the libyans, were facing. Qatar Initiative was a great step specially that the Libyan people were vulnerable to genocide crimes under the previous regime. She stressed that these stands are recorded to Qatar as being a lighthouse to freedom and defence of human rights in general as it is available to aid at catastrophes and war times. Algerian Minister of Family and Women Issues, Nawarra Saadia Jaffar on her part, said that the aforesaid meeting will offer a new enhancement for women issues enlisted at the NAM member countries agenda and as Arab countries having ambitions to pursue social equality in giving women their rights and empowering them in various fields precisely the political empowerment. On her part, Palestenian Minister of Women Affairs, Rabiha Zeeyab stated, in an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), on the occasion that Qatar was able to make a huge shift in women advancement over a short period of time as well as aiding and offering them facilities to advance their position . For her part, Secretary General of the Moroccan Ministry for Industry, Trade and New Technologies Mounia Boucetta who is also the chiefperson of the Morrocan delegation participating in the doha third ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement on the Advancement of Women , highly praised the efforts of HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, describing her of "having bright and sound far-sightedness in what deals with women advancement and empowerment ." In an exclusive interview to Qatar News Agency (QNA) today on the margins of the aforesaid meeting, Mounia Boucetta said that Qatar was able to hold an advanced position among Arab countries in supporting women issues. She expressed gratitude to Qatar s hosting such a meeting which is being held amid crucial circumstances in terms of what many Arab countries are witnessing and of which will reflect in a way or another on women status . Meanwhile Zakia Hamdan Al Farsi , the Counselor of Minister of Social developments of women affairs in the Sultanate of Oman, said that HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser has exerted great efforts in the advancement of Qatari woman as we now see her in all sites and conferences participating continuously and effectively. Zakia added in a similar press statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) today on the same occasion that the Qatari woman is now seen on all sites and fields on an equal footing like the Qatari man which we consider as a very good achievement to women in the gulf region in general.
