Arab Gulf Security 1 hailed

Riyadh, Nov. 29 (BNA): The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) interior ministers today held their 35th meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa led Bahrain's delegation to the session, which was chaired by Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
The delegations discussed key issues which focused on strengthening collective security work, protecting stability and preserving achievements and gains. HH Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud stressed the importance of the Arab Gulf Security 1, which was held recently in Bahrain, describing the joint drill as symbolizing deep awareness of common destiny and mounting challenges.
Lt. Gen Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa commended Saudi Arabia for hosting the meeting, thanking HH Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and all interior ministry's personnel for the warm welcome and outstanding organisation.
He outlined the pillars of the joint security drill (Arab Gulf Security 1), which was held recently in Bahrain, paying tribute to His Majesty King Hamad King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for the royal follow-up. He also hailed the GCC interior ministers for attending the final drill, which, he said, represented a major catalyst to enhance performance.
He hailed GCC keenness on upgrading collective work and holding more drills between different security agencies. The minister stressed the issues which featured on the agenda, focusing mainly on the need to bolster security cooperation and coordination so as to confront challenges and stave off dangers.
Lt. Gen Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa invited the GCC interior ministers to attend the 36th meeting, scheduled to be held in Bahrain, which will assume the rotation GCC presidency. The delegations paid tribute to Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud for his dedicated efforts to consolidate the GCC march.
