Arab Media Forum honours Bahrain

Kuwait, Apr. 16 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain has been chosen as the Honorary Guest for the 14th session of the Arab Media Forum due on April 22-24, the forum's Secretary-general Madhi Khamis said. Themed "media is life," the forum will be attended by Arab ministers, officials, prominent publishers and academicians, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). Bahrain has been chosen to be the honorary guest for cementing relations between Kuwait and Bahrain, he said, also noting prime role for the youth in organizing the session activities and workshops. Saleh Al-Otaibi, Guidance Director at the Ministry of Information, underlined importance of coordination among the official Arab media outlets for such cooperation "is currently very much crucial." He lauded the forum describing it as "an incubator for Arab media leaders and helpful for attaining international competition." The forum was established in 2003 to develop the Arab media rhetoric and capacities of the Arab media personnel. It has an observer's status at the permanent Arab media committee and the Arab Media Council at the Arab League, KUNA reported.
