Assistant Foreign Minister meets UK officials

Manama, June 12 (BNA): The Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdulla bin Faisal bin Jabur Al Doseri, met with Minister of State for the Middle East at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Dr. Andrew Murrison, in the presence of Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Simon Martin.
The Assistant Foreign Minister affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is continuing its reform, democratic and human rights march and its commitment to the strengthening and protection of human rights, and its partnership with the international community and the exchange of human rights expertise to achieve common goals in justice, development and prosperity of our societies. He added that the Kingdom of Bahrain is cooperating closely with international governmental and non-governmental organisations and its belief in the pivotal role played by those organisations in the process of protecting and promoting human rights.
The Assistant Foreign Minister praised the strong relations between the two countries, noting the important role played by the United Kingdom at all international levels, several issues of common interest were discussed which concern international peace and security, issues related to human rights, technical support and capacity building.
Abdulla bin Faisal bin Jabur Al Doseri also met with Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and Minister for Faith and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Wales, Lord Nick Bourne, where the role of education, universities, places of worship and cultural centres in bringing together, promoting peaceful coexistence, spreading the spirit of tolerance and fraternity among all sects of society, he pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain has always been known of its various religious coexistence and its support to the foreign workers to live in a safe environment. The meeting discussed the benefit of the Bahraini experience and cooperation with the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence in spreading the culture of coexistence and tolerance in the world.
The Assistant Foreign Minister met with Vice Chair of the Conservative Party for Communities, Mr. Rehman Chishti, Labour Party politician and the Member of Parliament for Warley, Mr. John Spellar, MP for Worthing West, Sir Peter Bottomley, and a member of the House of Lords, Baroness Uddin, he expressed his appreciation of the strong relations between the two friendly countries, and reviewed a number of issues of common concern.
