Astana Expo 2017: Malaysia Pledges One Watt Of Solar Generation For Every Social Media Post On Green Growth

Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Dr Maximus Ongkili said, every post with the hashtag #Wattif #MyButterflyEffect through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. would be matched with a one-watt solar generation pledge by the country. “The 1 Post=1Watt Pledge , which runs throughout the expo is part of #MyButterflyEffect campaign, one of the programmes and activities organised by Malaysia during the Astana Expo 2017 to showcase the nation’s emerging market leadership in green growth,” he told reporters after launching the ‘1 Post=1Watt Pledge’ on the sidelines of the Astana Expo 2017. He also invited his counterparts from the over 100 nations participating at the expo to join the #MyButterflyEffect and pledged to generate one watt of solar power in their own countries for every post during the Astana Expo 2017. “As an emerging market leader, Malaysia is in a position to inspire the world. We believe that a relatively small nation like Malaysia can inspire big changes in green growth on a global scale because, after all, green growth is in our nature,” he said. Meanwhile, he said, as an added incentive to Malaysians and Kazakhs, two of the most inspiring green growth posts from each country would win an all-expenses paid trip to Astana Expo 2017 to visit Malaysia Pavilion.
