Astana Will Witness Malaysia National Day Celebration

From Salawati Supardi ASTANA (Kazakhstan), July 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s National Day will be held here Monday as a sideline of the Expo 2017 Astana which kicked off last month. Acting Deputy Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water S.K. Devamany will be the Guest of Honour at the celebration that will take place at the National Day Stage at the Expo 2017 site, which has been the venue of national day celebrations held by the participating countries. "Malaysia is among 115 countries participating at the Expo 2017 themed “Future Energy” that will draw the curtain on Sept 10," according to a Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia) statement here, Sunday. International Trade and Industry deputy minister Ahmad Maslan; Tourism and Culture deputy minister Mas Ermieyati Samsudin; Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Energy, Kazakhstan Ernar Bakenov and Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Kazakhstan Syed Mohamad Bakri Syed Abdul Rahman would joint the event. The statement said all three Malaysian deputy ministers will be in Astana for events organised as part of Malaysia’s participation at Expo 2017 and they would jointly launch the Tourism and Business Week at the Malaysia Pavilion. On Wednesday, Devamany who is also deputy minister at the Prime Minister’s Department will deliver his remarks at the Malaysia-Kazakhstan Business Forum organised by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. The statement said close to 100 participants from Kazakh companies, as well as participating Expo countries, with trade and investment interests with Malaysia are expected to attend the forum. "Devamany is also scheduled to meet representatives from key Kazakh ministries to discuss opportunities for bilateral trade and cooperation, particularly in the field of green technology," the statement said.
