Attempts at heroization of nazism conducive to terrible consequences, as is the case in Ukraine where terror has been unleashed against civilians--Putin

MOSCOW, May 19 (Itar-Tass) - Neonazi forces in Ukraine are waging a war against civilians, and this once again emphasizes the need to keep the history of the Second World War from attempts at rewriting it, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in an interview with China's leading media. The Head of State recalled that four years ago Russia and China had adopted a Joint Statement in view of the 65th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. "We are unanimous in pointing out that a revision of the results of the Second World War is inadmissible," he pointed out. "Consequences (of such a revision) would be utterly dangerous; this is evidenced by the present-day tragic events in Ukraine, the rampancy of neonazi forces that unleashed a veritable terror against civilians," the Russian President stressed. "Of course, we shall continue to resist attempts at falsifying history, at heroizing fascists and their henchmen, and at casting aspersions on the memory and good name of liberation heroes," he said. "We increasingly often encounter attempts to revise and distort history," the RF President underlined. Putin expressed gratitude to the Chinese friends "for keeping the memory of thousands of our compatriots who gave their lives for the liberation of North-Eastern China from invaders".
