August 18 is Day of frontier guards of Kazakhstan
Astana, August 18, 2009 (Khabar) - All the frontier guards of Kazakhstan will soon celebrate their professional holiday.
On the 18th of August, 1992 border security troops of the country were created on the decree of the head of state. A concert has been orchestrated by the central office of the “Nur Otan” party right before the holiday. Performers of the staff ensemble of the frontier service performed on the stage. Sergey Gromov, the secretary of “Nur Otan” awarded 6 officers of the frontier guard duty with certificates of merit on behalf of the party. Throughout 17 years of the border forces operation a great number of accomplishments have been made, say border patrol agents. Initially, the territory of the guarded borderlines stood at over 1.7 kilometres at the boundary with China whereas starting from 2001, more than 15 thousand kilometres have been under the protection. The fitting-out of frontier post is improving further from year to year.

- Significant amounts of budgetary funds are being allocated for this purpose, including reinforcing the Southern border on the government’s resolution. 3 billion tenge were allocated on the decree of the head of state which were used for equipping the frontier service with modern devices and engineering equipment which will contribute to fulfilling our tasks.
